1. Our Blend
Shahi Tea is a signature Middle Eastern blend crafted from premium black tea leaves and a carefully selected combination of whole and ground spices. We take the quality and safety of our product seriously, and we are committed to providing full transparency about everything that goes into every cup.
Each Shahi Tea bag contains approximately 3g of our blend, comprising black tea, cardamom, cinnamon and cloves for aroma and colour.
2. Allergen Declaration
Shahi Tea does not contain any of the 14 major allergens as defined by UK food law (Food Information Regulations 2014), which include:
- Cereals containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats)
- Crustaceans
- Eggs
- Fish
- Peanuts
- Soybeans
- Milk and dairy
- Nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, pistachios, macadamia)
- Celery
- Mustard
- Sesame seeds
- Sulphur dioxide and sulphites
- Lupin
- Molluscs
However, individual spices within our blend particularly cardamom, cinnamon and cloves may cause sensitivity reactions in some individuals. If you have a known sensitivity to any spice, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before consuming Shahi Tea.
3. Full Ingredient List
Shahi Tea contains the following ingredients in descending order of weight per bag:
- Black tea (Camellia sinensis) 1.25g
- Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) 0.45g
- Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) 0.45g
- Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) 0.05g
All ingredients are naturally sourced. No artificial flavourings, colourings, preservatives or additives are used.
4. Cross-Contamination
Our product is handled in a facility that also processes other spice blends. While we follow strict hygiene and separation procedures, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of trace cross-contamination from other spices or botanical ingredients.
If you have a severe spice allergy or any condition that requires absolute certainty of ingredient isolation, we recommend you contact us directly before purchasing so we can provide the most current production information.
5. Storage & Preparation
For best results and to maintain product integrity:
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odours
- Keep sealed when not in use
- Use within 12 months of the best-before date printed on the packaging
- Brew with freshly boiled water (100°C) for 3–5 minutes
- Not recommended for children under 3 years of age due to the spice content
